The Romantic Style Type
This post focuses on a feminine fashion style. When I think of feminine fashion, also known as a romantic style, I think of pinks, pastel colors, laces, soft beautiful fabrics, and flowy pieces. Someone with a romantic style loves to wear dresses and skirts, and those elements help identify their style. A feminine fashion style is often drawn to floral prints in pastel or softer colors. The items in their closet may have less structure. Most of us will likely fall into more than one personal style type.

Feminine Fashion Style
Look 1: Jessica Alba
When I think about celebrities who embody a feminine fashion style, someone that comes to mind is Jessica Alba. In this first look, she’s wearing a soft ivory coat which feels like a feminine color. In feminine fashion, darker colors are typically paired with softer colors like pink.
Look 2: Jessica Alba
In this next look, her outfit is almost monochrome. This is something we do tend to see in a minimalist or a classic style, but these pieces feel romantic. Her top feels feminine because she is showing her collarbone, and her blazer is not structured. The unstructured design and neutral colors give this look a more feminine feel. She’s wearing loafers which can fall more into an androgynous style, but her shoes are streamlined and slim. She completes this look with a pink bag. Most outfits with the color pink feel feminine and romantic.
Look 3: Jessica Alba
In this next look, even though she’s wearing black jeans and black ankle boots, she’s paired them with a soft pink sweater. From the waist down, this looks like it can be more of an edgy outfit, but she’s incorporating a soft romantic color in a knit to make it feel more feminine. When you’re putting outfits together sometimes you want to think about the opposite qualities in your clothes.

Look 4: Jessica Alba
It’s the same thing here where she’s wearing mostly all-black. She’s wearing a leather moto jacket, typically seen in an edgy style type, but she’s chosen it in a pink color. Jessica Alba chose to wear a low top underneath so you can see more of her collarbone to give it more of a feminine feel to it.
Look 5: Jessica Alba
In this next look, she chose a blush-colored fitted overcoat. Jessica pairs it with a pair of oxfords that are typically androgynous, but hers are streamlined in soft white leather. An androgynous style would typically wear oxfords in a darker color and they wouldn’t pair them with a pink color. She’s wearing a button-up shirt underneath, but it’s in a silk fabric which gives a softer feel. She has it open so you’re seeing more collar bone.
Look 1: Blake Lively
Another feminine fashion style celebrity is Blake Lively. In this first look, she is in monochromatic pink. We see monochrome looks in a minimal and classic style, but it’s in this pink-lavender color so it feels more romantic.
Look 2: Blake Lively
Here in this last look, she’s chosen a pink outer layer. Adding pink to any outfit automatically makes it feel more feminine. She’s also pairing it with this fluid soft skirt. Her top comes a bit lower so you can see her collarbone to add another feminine element. The way the pieces are styled defines personal style types.
