One thing I hear moms struggle with most is finding casual mom outfits that are also stylish. Many of us moms have a before “mom life” wardrobe, and an after “mom life” wardrobe. We’re always trying to get back to the before (at least in the style department), even when we’re sleep-deprived.

So how can we create chic, casual mom outfits and still juggle all the responsibilities of our busy lives? I like to think of the solution as a “style for mom” mini-capsule wardrobe. Which means looking put together without any of the decision-making, while being comfortable doing all the things that a mom has to do. School pick-up line, grocery shopping, meetings, toddler baby gym, whatever you need to do in your day, moms need an outfit that is stylish and put together without being too fussy.

Mom with five says, “Moms often have to put up with various societal pressures, and that also includes dressing up to an extent. Keeping your sense of style even as a mom is also a great way to keep a connection to your old self.” Society often tells moms (and women in general) that we have to look put together at all times to be “worthy.” You are worthy as a person no matter what you look like, whether you’re a mother or child-free, single or married. However, when you choose to put yourself together for your own sake, it can boost your self-esteem. Putting effort and care into yourself can remind you that you deserve that effort and care, especially as a mother who is constantly giving to her child.
