I used to never wear sneakers in fact for our first year together my now husband bought me a pair of sneakers and I was so disappointed not because they were trainers but because I felt like if he had known me he would have known I never wore sneakers. Fast forward 16 years later, I now wear sneakers more than any other shoe in my closet. Finding the right sneaker that still feels feminine was a challenge.

Wearing a dress and trainers is a trend that’s been around for a few years and I don’t think it’s going anywhere. My first pair of sneakers is from VEJA. They’re an affordable price point and they’re a sustainable brand which I love.

The next pair I’m going to show you are about three times the cost but I do love these as well. They are Golden Goose sneakers. If you’re not familiar with Golden Goose trainers they are meant to look distressed and broken in. When I first saw them years ago on a friend of mine I couldn’t believe my super stylish friend was wearing them. Now I love them so much and I love to style them with dresses or jeans.

I love the look of mixing something more casual like sneakers with something more dressy like a dress. Mixing those two opposites together gives a look balance and makes a dress more casual and daytime appropriate.
