Fashion Blog Best Tips
1. Capsule Wardrobe.
The thing about a capsule wardrobe that I want you to understand is that these are investment pieces. Most of the items in my closet I’ve had for years. They’re well-made, classic, and in neutral colors so they last for years. The items in a capsule wardrobe are versatile. When you’re building a capsule wardrobe whether it’s for the winter or an all year round capsule wardrobe, these are the pieces that you want to spend a little bit more on so that you will have them for years and you can get the ones that you absolutely love.
Clever Girl Finance writes, “Learning how to build a capsule wardrobe or minimalist wardrobe will help you save money and reduce your stress and anxiety”.
2. Why You Have Nothing To Wear.
I’m going to share with you guys why you feel like you have nothing to wear even when you have a closet full of clothes. You’re purchasing items that you like how they might look on someone else without thinking that they’re right for your body and lifestyle.
3. You’ll Always Regret.
Another item you’ll always regret buying is when you’re buying things that aren’t for your current lifestyle. If you have young kids, you’re probably not going to get a lot of use out of silk dresses and high heels. Pay attention to what works for your everyday life.
4. Year Round Wardrobe Essential.
There is an all year round wardrobe essential every woman should own. A great pair of denim. The key to your essential jean is that it’s a jean that’s a medium to dark blue wash that you love the fit, and you can wear it from day to night.
5. Look Stylish In The Winter.
Do you want to know how to look stylish in the winter even when it’s cold outside? I recommend having fitted cotton turtlenecks in ivory and black. They are essential layering pieces for winter because they provide you with warmth for your neck and give you an extra layer. You can also style them under a dress for a chic and easy way to get to wear some of your lighter weight dresses in the colder months. I also like to wear a sweater over a dress to make it look like I’m wearing a sweater with a skirt.
6. A Bag Every Woman Needs.
I recommend every woman should have a classic neutral leather tote bag in her wardrobe. This is an item that is worth the investment.
7. Why You Should Declutter Your Closet.
Being confronted with a closet full of clothes that you don’t love and don’t feel great is not a positive way to start your day. If you haven’t decluttered your wardrobe in a while this is the perfect time to do so. According to Clever Girl Finance, “The gotta go pile are the things you regret buying, have never worn or never wear, don’t fit into your lifestyle, or you simply just don’t like”.
Let go of what no longer works in your closet for a fresh start. This can also be applied to your regular life as well.
8. How To Look More Expensive.
Another way to look more expensive is to wear neutral colors. In general, neutral colors tend to look more expensive. If you’re buying a t-shirt that’s not the best quality, I recommend purchasing a solid neutral color because it will just automatically look more expensive. A black is usually the best way to go because it hides lesser quality fabric imperfections.
Carolyn Arentson from My Chic Obsession writes, “…simple will give you the expensive look that you desire. We can always gather inspiration from the French, as they always look chic and expensive and are known to wear staple and timeless pieces in muted tones”.
9. Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas.
An easy way to start pulling outfits together from your closet for Valentine’s Day is to go through your wardrobe and see what pieces you already have in pinks or reds or another Valentine’s color like burgundy. Another thing you could do if you don’t have those colors in your wardrobe, you can wear a black sweater or a neutral sweater and add a pop of color bag or shoe in red, burgundy, or pink.
10. Make Your Style Better.
Make your style better in 2022 by not spending your money on fast fashion. Fast fashion is buying low-quality pieces at low cost that is more focused on trends. There’s mass quantity produced. You generally wear the items for only a few uses because they fall apart. In my opinion, it’s like throwing your money away. Switch your mindset to quality over quantity. It’s not helpful if you have drawers overflowing with clothes or if your closet is stuffed that it’s hard to see what you have. It isn’t always easier to get dressed with more items. The closets that I’ve walked into where people have an overflow of clothing can be overwhelming. What I find is that most of these people aren’t wearing 70% of their wardrobe, and from the other 30% they may feel great in only 5-10% of those pieces.
11. Why You Should Invest In A Capsule Wardrobe For Work.
Dress for the job that you want, not the job that you have. Unless the job you have is the one you want. When you elevate your work style, you’ll look like someone that is successful and ready for the job promotion. I worked with a 30-something-year-old woman to help her elevate her work style. She was used to her 20-something wardrobe where she had pieces from Express, H&M, J. Crew, and Gap. Those brands filled her work wardrobe. Clothing from these places is fine in your 20s when you’re just getting started. But when you’re getting older and you want to move up the ladder, you want to elevate not just your actual work but also what you’re wearing. How you are perceived in the office will influence your job position.
12. Make A Shopping List.
Make a list of items that are missing from your wardrobe. When you’re getting dressed in the morning or for an event, if there’s something that’s missing to help you get dressed that should go on your list. For example, if you need a black shoe with the outfit you have on but you don’t have one, that goes on your shopping list. Having a running shopping list helps you prioritize the gaps in your closet that are preventing you from getting dressed easily.
13. Let Go Of Items You Don’t Love Wearing.
Let go of pieces in your closet that you don’t love. An item that you bought and can’t return, or that you got as a gift but you feel guilty getting rid of. It doesn’t matter what you paid for it, or who gave it to you (unless it’s a sentimental piece). The simple rule is if you don’t feel great in it, get rid of it. This is your permission to let go of those items that you don’t wear because you don’t feel good when you do. Those pieces shouldn’t be in your wardrobe.
14. The Number 1 Rule.
The number 1 rule you should follow is to feel great in what you wear. What you wear will affect how you feel and how you engage with the world and the people around you. Your clothes should be something that helps you feel confident. Not something that you’re putting on to hide from the world. Even if it’s something that I recommend you shouldn’t wear, if it’s something you feel great in that is the number 1 rule to follow in your wardrobe.
Learning to dress better is a skill that takes practice along with some trusted advice and guidelines. I hope my fashion blog best style tips are helpful for you to build a closet you love and get dressed easily no matter what you are doing or where you’re going.
