Packing Your Perfect Travel Capsule Wardrobe

When you want to bring a travel capsule wardrobe and pack only a carry-on there are certain things I follow. A travel capsule wardrobe in a carry-on makes it much easier to travel because there’s no waiting at baggage claim or lost luggage worries. I’ll show you how to pack a travel capsule wardrobe and fit it into one carry-on bag.

One of the easiest ways to pack efficiently is by sticking to a color palette. If you have a capsule wardrobe, then you likely already have colors that mix and match well. Limiting your palette to three or four colors for your trip gives you versatile outfit options. Choose to bring high-quality, neutral basics that can be dressed up or down. When packing in a carry-on, prioritize pieces that can create multiple outfits.

For temperature changes, I like to pack layers. For example, a cashmere sweater, or a black leather moto jacket which can be styled up or down. Additionally, these layering pieces go over a dress or top for varied looks. Also, I like to pack tops that work for day and night. My bottoms can mix easily for casual or dressy outfits. Also, these simple choices let me enjoy a range of outfits without overpacking.

Packing:

When I start packing, I like to place heavier items on the bottom. First, I fold my pants in half, then lengthwise to match the suitcase’s straight line. Additionally, I fold my joggers and sweaters by rolling them tightly. For my dresses and silk tops, I turn them inside out to protect the fabric. I keep shoe bags from new shoes and use them for packing my shoes. In another compartment, I’ll pack pajamas, undergarments, and toiletries. This way, I have my daily outfits on one side and essentials on the other.
