What To Wear This Valentine’s Day

I’m sharing my favorite Valentine’s Day dress code from casual to dressy including tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes & accessories. Many of these pieces can be mixed and matched, like a mini capsule wardrobe.

To be honest, growing up I never liked Valentine’s Day… Most years I didn’t have a Valentine. I remember seeing boxes of chocolates and red roses on the 14th and feeling like I was missing something. In college, I celebrated Galentine’s Day with my girlfriends, and years after enjoyed taking myself out for Valentine’s Day for a glass of wine and dinner.

For the last 16+ years, I have been lucky to have a Valentine (my husband). What I learned all those years is that the holiday is what we want it to be. The only meaning it has is the one we give to it. So whether you have a Valentine, are celebrating Galentine’s or you’re your own Valentine this year, know that this could simply be a day to remember that you are loved.

While I focused on Valentine’s colors, these are classic styles that go beyond the holiday. I love styling an oversized sweater like #9 (tops) with a fitted mini skirt like #2 (bottoms). Although it’s easy to wear a sweater or button-down shirt with jeans for daytime, you can also dress these up with a fitted skirt like #1, 3 & 6 (bottoms) and a pair of heels.
