I’ve had it for years. It’s classic and goes with almost everything because I have it in a neutral color. Sizewise it’s perfect for day-to-day. A great leather jacket is on my list for pieces that are worth the investment. If you’re not into leather, a denim jacket also works as a must-have fall or spring layer. I wear mine with dresses and a pair of chic sneakers. Also with an elevated white t-shirt and jeans. I’ve had this one for years. Make sure the one you add to your wardrobe is one that you love.

The fourth closet item worth splurging on is a black classic fitted blazer. Mine is probably eight or nine years old and I still get so much use out of it. Look for a blazer that is versatile. One that you can wear casually with the sleeves rolled up, but also one you can dress up and wear for business meetings. When you’re finding a wardrobe item that is worth saving up for, make sure that it’s versatile and can work with a lot of different things in your wardrobe. I would not recommend saving up and splurging on items that are trend items. They’re going to come in and out of style.

It may look like a high price tag at first but it’s worth the money in my opinion because it’s an item that you’ll have, wear, and love for years to come.

Saving up for and splurging on a delicate necklace in gold or silver is worth it. I wear my necklaces all the time. I remember thinking when I purchased my first one that it was a lot to spend but I really needed something that I could wear all the time and didn’t have to take off. 15 years later I am still wearing them every day.

Look for great quality because you won’t have to think about taking them off. A delicate necklace adds so much to your look. It can help shape your outfit and give it a little bit of something extra. Spending your money on a few quality pieces is better than buying a bunch of costume jewelry items that tarnish or that you don’t wear all the time. I rather have fewer high quality items that I love even if I have to save up for them.

A neutral silk cami is worth splurging on in my experience. I get so much use out of mine. In the colder months, I wear it under sweaters and let it peek out from the top or the bottom. I love to style it with skirts or jeans and heels. I’ve had this one in my closet for years and have gotten so much use out of it. It is such a versatile piece that is worth spending your money on.

10. IRO Shavani Fringe-Trimmed Jacket.

My last item that I feel is worth saving up for is a structured knit jacket like this one. This is one of my favorite jackets and I recommend it all the time. It has been available for years because it’s such a great piece. I have worn this with formal dresses for weddings. I’ve also worn it with a t-shirt and jeans. A well-made structured jacket like this one is versatile and worth the price tag.

Sometimes when you look at a cost for an item it may seem high but you want to think more about the cost per wear. This basically means how many times are you going to wear this item. Is it a classic item that will be in style for years to come? Does it fit you well? Do you love it? Can you see yourself wearing it for several seasons?
